Meet Pastor
Sang-Won

Pastor Sang-Won Doh grew up in Seoul, Korea, and comes from a proud heritage of Methodist ministers.  His grandfather was a Korean Methodist pastor and martyred by the Communists during the Korean War.  His father, the Rev. Kun II Doh has served the Korean Methodist Church for over 40 years.  In Korea, Sang-Won served in the Korean Army (1989-1990) and graduated from the Korean Methodist Theological Seminary in 1992.  He came to the US to continue his education in theology at Drew Theological Seminary, graduating with a Master of Divinity in 1995.  Since 1992, Rev. Doh has served as Youth Pastor in several churches and as a full time Senior Pastor in three UM churches.  He is a strong advocate of prayer ministry, and allowing God to work through his people.  He believes in the small group setting for the spiritual growth of individuals and is enthusiastic about equipping the laity for spiritual leadership.

Sang-Won loves music, and had been singing bass in a men’s double quartet for about 10 years.  This love of music was made complete when he married Mira, a talented and professional cellist.  She graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with a Masters Degree, and recently received her Doctorate Degree in Musical Arts at Rutgers University.  She has played for the 2006 Annual Conference on its opening night and at the 2006 Epworth Christmas Concert.  Adding to the “music in their lives” is the blessing and joy of their beautiful 4-year-old daughter, Grace and 1-year old Joon Young.
