PURPOSE OF THE UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

United Methodist Women Circles

New Members are always welcome to join any U.M.W. Circle, please call Kim Bohley at 829-3431 if you are interested in joining a circle

  • Deborah
The Deborah Circle is 19+ women strong of diverse ages and many with longtime friendships. The Circle meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:30 pm at the homes of different members each month. There is always a balance of Study and Social Time in the Deborah program along with various Service Projects for the church. For additional information, contact Susan Kuhn.

  • Mary
The Mary Circle (also known as the "Green" Circle) is our newest Epworth UMW Circle. It is for women ages 0-90. They meet on the 4th Thursday of every month in the Fellowship Room. We will have a series of studies, devotionals and service projects to help world and community issues. For additional information please contact Kim Bohley at 829-3431.

  • Ruth
The Ruth Circle is a small Bible Study group that prefers to meet during the day. They meet at 12:00 on the 1st Tuesday of the month in the Historical Room at the church. Everyone brings their own lunch. A short business meeting is held followed by a time of study. Currently, they are using the "10 Bible People Like Me" study in video and written form. The circle collects Greeting Cards and Calendars for the UM Homes and Cancelled Stamps to benefit the Methodist Hospital. For more information, contact Doris Willson.

  • Esther
The Esther Circle has over 20 members and meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month in the Fellowship Room at the church. Starting time is 11:30, and everyone brings a lunch. Varied programs are presented each month (i.e. speaker, video, a craft, etc.) followed by fellowship and lunch. The Circle is involved with service projects for the Methodist Homes of NJ and the Camden Neighborhood Center and have supported Hope White, a missionary in the Phillippines, for many years. For more information, please contact Betty Powell or Ginny Robinson.

  • Grace
The Grace Circle has some 20 members and usually meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7 pm. The meetings are a great way to meet other women who have the same concerns about their spirituality, life, mothering, growing older....and have some fun at the same time! Some of the activities of the past include discussions about childhood and married life, hobby or craft night, preparing baskets for the girls at Crossroads and visiting them, and making up shoe boxes for Samaritan's Purse. The Circle supports the Neighborhood Center in Camden and has long supported a missionary, Joy Phillips, now serving in Africa. If you would like to join this Circle or want additional information, contact Vicki O'Brien or Bunny Zimmerman.

  • Hannah
The Hannah Circle is for past Circle members who are in Nursing Homes or can no longer come to meetings. Ginny Dreby keeps in contact with these women by sending them birthday cards and UMW literature. Contact Ginny for any additional information or to inform her of someone who should be included in this Circle.

  • Martha
The Martha Circle is for women who want to be associated with the UMW organization, but are unable or prefer not to meet on a scheduled monthly basis. They receive UMW information and support all UMW functions and service projects as they are able. For additional information, please contact Betsi Tatem.

  • Eve
The Eve Circle is a newly formed UMW Circle for teenage girls who are confirmed or are 13 to 18 years old. This Teen Circle meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month and starts at 6:30 pm. Meetings are held at the church. The Circle will feature special speakers and teen issues of interest. For more information contact Kim Bohley.
