Hymn Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Opening Prayer Peter Kuhn

Almighty and loving God, even in the midst of what appears to be no end to the troubles of our world, we know that you will not forsake your people. Even when we turn from you, you are there with us.  We are your creation, and we know you will never abandon us, even in the deepest valleys.
May our time of worship be blessed by the knowledge of your never-ending love. Come O God and fill this place with your presence, fill our hearts with your Spirit. We lift this prayer in your Son’s name, Jesus Christ. Amen.

    Scripture

2 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. 5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. 6 When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken.

    Scripture

24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

    Your Support is Needed

Even as we distance ourselves, our ministry continues. Please continue to make your contributions to Epworth online or simply mail them in. At this time it is important to adjust your giving to completely go to the general fund. Maybe you could contribute what you might have spent on flowers. This will help us continue to meet our financial obligations during this difficult time.
